Kesha

Kesha Nakit Alasco

DOB 12/15/94

Kesha is oversized, but that doesn't make her any less of an AKK!  She is black and white (faded now with age), has a pretty mask, is sweet and quite reserved.  She and Maverick had lived in their previous home for almost a decade, but the family was moving and decided to place their dogs in another home.  The breeder refused to take them back, and the owners told me that no one else was offering to help.  Naturally, I volunteered to take them, and picked them up from Colorado February 26, 2006.  They were both very nervous, very skittish, very wary, and very unsure.  I had been told they were snappy, and Kesha did not like men.  I was determined they would learn there was nothing to be afraid of in my home, or with most people in general, and we started our adventure.  Now, I am happy to say that Kesha is happy and comfortable in my home, and will never have to worry about anything again.  She is still a little wary of strangers (especially men), but is nowhere near the nervous wreck she used to be.  She was overweight and had bad teeth when I picked her up, but is now trim and healthy with much more energy than she did in February.  There is a sparkle in her eyes that did not used to be there.  Kesha and Maverick are my little shadow, following me around the house whenever I move, and parking themselves at my feet when I'm stopped.  It's like they just want to make sure they're never lost again.  And I promise -- they won't be!
