The only drawback to sharing our lives with our precious pets, is their lives are so much shorter than our own.  Anyone that shares such a bond with an animal knows the wish that we could keep them around forever.  Alas, we cannot, and so as part of loving these special friends, we must bear the pain of losing them.  We try to find comfort in knowing they are happy and free, and we shall eventually see them again when the time is right.  To all my furry friends I have loved and lost, you will live forever in my heart, and I can only wait until the day we meet at the bridge.
