"Quinlan" means very strong. Quin is a special boy, as he and his four siblings were orphaned from birth, as their mom passed away from panleukopenia (feline 'distemper') shortly after her kittens were born. I hand-raised the 5 kittens. Over the first couple of weeks, I lost three of the five. Given that they were born to a cat with distemper, they never really had much chance. But I didn't care, I gave them everything that I could. When the two remaining kittens reached six weeks old and got their first vaccinations, I rejoiced, and named them both. Quinlan, and his brother, Ezekiel (roughly, meaning 'fighter'). Just a couple days later, I lost Ezekiel, as well. Now there was only Quin. Terrified I would lose him, too, despite all my hard work, I tried not to get attached. It was impossible. One look at this tiny dwarf kitten and you couldn't help but love him! He was just a huge round belly with four toothpick legs, and *huge* ears and eyes until he got to be about four months old, then he decided maybe he better start growing like good little kittens are supposed to do! Quin thrived, and grew up to be the most laid back cat I have ever seen. He is very, very quiet. You know that if Quin talks, it must be extremely important!!
